Amy Cervantez
Amy strives to make a difference in the lives of children because she knows that a little care can go a long way. She deeply cherishes the help she received in school because she struggled with dyslexia and other learning disabilities that made reading, writing, and math very challenging for her. Amy was also severely bullied from elementary school to high school and felt very alone. Because of her negative experiences as a child, she believes she was led to teaching and helping kids.
One of Amy’s passions is to help kids discover their talents, realize their gifts and make sure they know how important they are no matter the color of their skin, size, capabilities, religion or their background. She believes that ALL children deserve to be loved unconditionally. In her twenty years of working with kids, her favorite memories are the times she worked closely with special needs children because they always light up her heart! Amy believes that children with special needs are often forgotten too and they deserve just as much love and attention as any child. |
In New Zealand, she assisted at a horse therapy school with at risk youth, foster children and children with mental, emotional and physical disabilities. She was so impressed by the healing and positive impact all the horses had on children, so it is a dream of hers to include horse therapy at her school too.
Karina’s memorable friendship in Amy’s life was a gift. Amy knows that without meeting Karina she may have never figured out how to pursue her passion with kids and similar visions of creating a school for children who really need love. She had no idea how this vision could ever come into form until the loss of Karina’s life brought Michelle closer to her. |
Meeting Michelle was not a coincidence. They believe that meeting each other through Karina was “Divine Intervention”. Their relationship grew into a beautiful partnership. Their hearts connected and their vision for forgotten children grew stronger and stronger the more they were together. Through their losses in life, they gained confidence and courage to dedicate the rest of their lives to living on their purpose of giving love to the most vulnerable children.
Amy is also an artist and children’s book illustrator. She is illustrated the book called The Magic of Love. Amy loves traveling, art, movies, rugby, drawing, cooking, vacuuming (yes, vacuuming), working on the tractor, and she loves to spend time with her nephew, nieces, and fur babies. |
